Haley Carney

Mechanical Engineer

Right now I am studying at the Technical University in Munich, Germany.  I started school without knowing any German, but I think it is vital for the future of the world to interact with other countries. Because of Germany’s love for energy and the environment, it is a great place to learn about alternative energy.Haley-C

I had an internship with Hoshizaki America, Inc. where I worked with an ice making company for two semesters. The first semester I learned how the manufacturing floor was run and how to increase efficiency and then I got to be a part of the engineering team that designed a new ice machine. During this time I was also able to participate in the testing that ensured the machines reached the production quality standards for sale.

What I hope to accomplish as an engineer is to create an international connection between engineering and aid in the research for alternative energy.  Being an engineer really opens doors in any field. I have met engineers that are working as managers, teachers, researchers and even working in entirely different fields than the ones they studied. Engineers really turn dreams intro reality.
