2009 Solar Decathlon in Washington, DC
The 2009 Solar Decathlon officially opens today in Washington, DC. Sponsored by the Department of Energy, the decathlon is a competition in which teams of college and university students compete to design, build, and operate the most attractive, effective, and energy-efficient solar powered house. The house must produce enough electricity and hot water to perform all the functions of a typical home, in addition to charging the battery of an electric car. Find out more.
