Gianluca N. Mantovano
From an early age I have been fascinated with automobiles, engines, and different types of mechanical gadgets. In high school, I started a High Mileage Vehicle Club, involved in the research, design, and development of a fuel-efficient car achieving 171 to 204 miles per gallon. Now, I am the powertrain group leader on the University of Wisconsin-Madison Formula SAE Racing Team. Designing, building, and racing a formula-style racing car each year is so exciting, and my team won the prestigious SAE Foundation Cup at MIR in 2007 and the 2008 Formula SAE Award at VIR. My experiences have led to internships at Goodyear, John Deere and GE Aviation. I wish to join a company which shares the passion and dedication that I have in making a difference for the environment by changing the paradigm of transportation.
