Aerospace Career & Education (ACE) Camp enables students to make more informed decisions as they consider college & career options. This five day camp hosted at SDSU every July provides students the opportunity to fly a private plane, visit the Air National Guard and fly the F-16 simulator, obtain over 2 hours of flight instruction, visit and tour a wind farm, learn about satellite imagery, astronomy and more.

Youth Engineering Adventure is a 5 day summer camp that provides high school students the opportunity to have fun while learning how engineering relates to the world around them by working closely with engineering professionals. Students participate in engineering design and hands on projects while living on campus and sampling college life.

Specifically targeting students from populations underrepresented in engineering and science fields (minority or economically disadvantaged students), the Explorations in Engineering Workshop allows high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors the opportunity to investigate college options and careers in these fields. Practicing minority engineers from industry and the government, educators, and university faculty lead informational sessions and discussions. Each session includes sessions in ten engineering fields, a laboratory experience, a team engineering project, and time to interact formally and informally with role models and talented peers.

The Marine Advanced Technology Education Center (MATE) Center coordinates an international student ROV competition and a network of regional ROV contests that take place across the world. Student teams from middle schools, high schools, home schools, community colleges, and universities participate in the events, which consist of different “classes” that vary depending on the sophistication of the ROVs and the mission requirements.
