The Seminar for Top Engineering Prospects (STEP) provides you the opportunity to explore various engineering disciplines and job functions. Tours, demonstrations, classroom experiences, and projects are all designed to help students learn about engineering and gain a first-hand sense of what college life is all about. In 1999 the K-12 Outreach group was formed in the Office of Academic Affairs. Since then, the staff has impacted an average of 5000 students in North Carolina annually, in addition to 500 teachers. They have also participated in local, state and national collaborations to advance science, technology, engineering and math instruction in K-12 schools.

RIPPLE institute’s mission is to inspire young people to pursue careers in science, technological, engineering and mathematical fields of study. This mission is accomplished through an outsource model of community partnership/outreach. The RIPPLE Institute utilizes an outsource model that works with educational institutions to provide a core of basic skills that become the platform for high academic standards and achievement.

The School of Engineering is pleased to announce its Spring Engineering Education Days (SEEDs).
Overview: Each Saturday in April, participants attend two class sessions taught by engineering faculty. SEEDs sessions provide high school sophomores and juniors an opportunity to explore engineering topics not normally available to them.. Sessions are held 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
