Future Engineers in Dynamic Systems Academy at University of Maryland

UMBCThe Future Engineers in Dynamic Systems (FEDS) Academy is a unique two-week summer educational program for junior and senior high school students in the Baltimore region. It focuses on dynamics, vibration, acoustics, and system control in the mechanical engineering discipline. The academy will consist of ten students and take place in the Dynamic Systems and Vibrations Laboratory (DSVL) and surrounding classrooms at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Students will be exposed to the state-of-the-art research and facility in the DSVL and engaged in thought-provoking experiments and lectures led by undergraduate and graduate teaching fellows. They will learn how engineering activities can be used for the betterment of life.

Project Discovery Summer Enrichment Program at The University of Kansas

PJProject Discovery is a one week program for high school females to explore possibilities within the field of engineering.

The program allows students to exchange ideas in an atmosphere where curiousity and enthusiasm, not tests and grdes, inspire learning. KU engineering faculty talk with students about the various fields of professional engineers. Students learn about the research methods and problem solving approaches that engineers use every day.

KU Survivor Engineering Camp

KU KU Survivor is a weeklong, guys-only intensive learning camp in July for rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors at the University of Kansas School of Engineering. The camp lets students explore the different engineering disciplines through classes led by KU faculty.

The summer 2009 camp will be held July 19-24. The camp costs $500 and covers housing, meals and laboratory materials.
