Summer Program: Research at a Navy Lab

SEAPThe Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program (SEAP) places academically talented high school students with interest and ability in science and mathematics as apprentices in Department of Defense laboratories for eight weeks during the summer. The program offers students a unique experience in their fields of interest, encouraging them to pursue careers in science and engineering. Applications due October 23, 2015.

Homeschool Science ProgramThe Homeschool Science Program (HSP) presents free materials science workshops, at the Sciencenter in Ithaca, NY, on select Tuesdays, 2-3 p.m. November 2010 through March 2011 for children ages 6-13 and their adult guardians. The workshops are hands-on and encourage students to explore how materials interact with each other. Upcoming workshops: November 9, 2010, Bridge Building; December 14, 2010, Sounds of Science. Summer Program: Gateway Academy

Building Rockets at Gateway AcademyParents, teachers, businesses and community groups in Eagle River, Wisconsin are collaborating with the SME Education Foundation and partner Project Lead The Way (PLTW) in bringing the Gateway Academy and its world of engineering summer camps to Northland Pines High School. The co-ed, week long Gateway Academy program introduces 6th – 8th grade students to the basics of engineering in a fun and exciting environment. PLTW-certified instructors lead students in projects and activities related to engineering disciplines.
