Girl Scout Engineering Saturday

Girl Scout Engineering Saturday (GSES) is a program for local Girl Scout troops in Maryland and the Washington metropolitan area. Cadettes and Seniors (grades 6-12) engage in fun, hands-on activities and earn the Building a Better Future Project patch. Join the program October 9, 2010, or again in February.

Program Schedule
The Girl Scouts will be divided into three groups to rotate through a series of activities; each activity designed to meet the Building a Better Future Project patch requirements. Participants complete activities in four areas:

  1. Skill Builder
  2. Career Exploration
  3. Technology
  4. Community Service

Since the program is co-sponsored by the Society of Women Engineers-UMCP Section, participants earn the Building a Better Future Project patch.

Who can attend?
Cadettes and Seniors (grades 7-12) are invited to apply to the program, though the program content is geared more towards Cadettes.

Cost
There is a $10 registration fee for each participant to cover lunch and the cost of patches.

Check the Website for registration form.

Please do not include the fee with the registration form. Send all checks made payable to the “University of Maryland” with the permission slips after being accepted to the program.
